Dave played for Scouts and assisted with the introduction of Mini and Juniors.

His son Danny played for the Scouts for a number of years and daughter Laura helped behind the scenes before running the bar for a short time.

The Dave Bayes Trophy is awarded to the Mini and Junior Coach of the Year.
