U7s Victorious at Wellingborough Festival.

A bright sunny morning at Wellingborough saw the U7s victorious in the shield final and finish the day unbeaten, winning all of their matches. There were four pools of five teams, with the Old Scouts drawn in pool 1.

Rushden and Higham were first up and proved to be a tough start for the team, with the Scouts just edging the tie. S&L Corby were our next opponents as the team went through the gears and some superb attacking resulted in well earned victory. Olney were a solid test in the third game with the Scouts just edging the tie.

The last of the pool games saw us pitched against Towcester. The team could now see silver ware in sight and put on a great display of 4 a side tag rugby to complete a clean sweep in the pool. Each player was given equal game time, with everyone playing 4 half's in the pool stage.

After what seemed like a lengthy wait, we found out we had scored 46 tries in the pool stage, which took us to the shield final against Long Bucky. 4 of the squad played the first half and established the lead. The team completely changed for the second half to ensure all of the squad played in the final. The final score was 11-8.
