The Old Scouts got revenge on Saturday as they comfortably beat Bedford Ath at Rushmere road. Comfortable makes it sounds easy, but that's not the case. The meaning of comfortable in this sense was that Scouts were so great, that there was only going to be one winner.
They absorbed all the heavy artillery that the Bedford Ath threw at them and gave it back themselves. This was optimised by another hard hitting shift from the young second row pairing of Nicklin and Barrett.

We also saw Reeves and Dolman show flashes of their younger selves, by covering all areas of the park and linking up with the Scouts backline. And then when the old masters got given a rest at half time, the coaches sent on young stars Hone, Holliday and Perkins. It was never going to be an easy day for the opponents.

The boggy ground didn't even stop our speedy backline and once Tom Holliday got the try scoring off to a start, you just knew it was going to be their day.

The Scouts knew they had this performance in them and the title chase would have been over had they not won. But they did, and it is. One slip up from Market Harborough and the end of season match will be a cracker.
