The Old Scouts came out out on top on Friday against a resilient Olney team in some rough weather.
Big Hits, set piece wrangling and hard yards were the order of the day as despite Scouts working hard, Olney would not go away.
With the weather being rough, the pace of the rugby was a little slower than Scouts would have liked and Olney enjoyed the dog fight. Both sides defended very well and both sides kept their work rate high.
Scouts won the fixture by doing the basics well and scoring some lovely tries. The pack had a field day at scrum time which helped and all but one of the tries came from the forwards. George Cressers barn storming score was a sight. I would question anyone who would have said that they could have stopped him.
The resulting win meant Scouts caught up their game in hand and leap frogged Bedford Ath in to a well deserved 2nd place in the league.
We cant move on from the night without mentioning our one and only Noah Jervis. He has made some records since he joined the Scouts, (one being the quickest to bring a boot back up) but on Friday he hit 100 tries in 87 games for the club. We are super proud of him and pleased to call him an Old Scout. Well done Noah!
