The second league game and first at home ended in another hard fought and well deserved win for The Old Scouts.

Broadstreet looked familiar and definitely improved from last season and they faced quite a different Scouts side. The squad is in transition in areas and no more so than in the pack with only one starter over 30 and most under 25.

The youthful pack stood out in skill and technique but took a thumping from the Coventry lads. However, some excellent defence at times gave them enough structure to let the backs loose. Once stability was gained, you could see Scouts had the beating of their opponents.

Once in to the second half, the spectators were desperate for the boys to put space between their opponents and Alex Finney stepped up with a fine team try just in to the half. His second for the day in the last quarter sealed the win and stopped any comeback from Broadstreet.
