On a boggy February afternoon The Old Scouts dispatched a very defiant and niggly Kettering.
The start was once again very impressive with in form second row Richard Bussey getting a try at just 1 minute. Credit to Kettering, they started again and were next to score, but that was soon crossed out with Jervis adding to his try tally. (He is currently the highest try scorer in the midlands).
This gave the lads some focus and they built a score of 22-10 at half time with tries from Lake and Skipper and 2 points from Will Brenan.
As expected, Kettering started the 2nd half well and got a try to put the pressure back on Scouts.
Neither team were dominant and the rugby was not great at times, with the visitors intent on scrapping for everything rather than playing rugby. In the tough conditions it meant that Scouts took a little longer to control the game but with a final score from Sonny Rodella and conversion from Brenan they ran out deserved winners.
The win put the squad at the Top of the League. A position they are thoroughly entitled to claim and is testament to their hard work.
Man of the Match = Will Brenan
