The Northampton Old Scouts silenced a very large crowd at Long Eaton on Saturday with a bulldozing and skilful display of rugby.
Despite a couple of tries from the home team, it was still very one sided and the quality of team play from the Scouts was exceptional
Long Eaton were shell shocked at half time and down 28-7. Despite an expected come back, they did not have the fire power of the Scouts.
Highlights were a lovely chip and chase try from Tom Holliday and the inclusion of SIX academy players. Ted Nunley and Rhys Maloret both coming on to make their debut.
It was a risk taking a younger side against the league winners, but overall the coaches Karl Braband and Jack Green continue to be impressed by the quality of the academy players coming through.
Man of the Match = Brett Daynes
Next game is home v Lichfield at home this Saturday 27th April, KO 3pm.
