First round of PJ Cup starts with a win

The Old Scouts took the first step to Twickenham with a win against Stow On the Wold in the Papa Johns Cup.

Whist the opposition was unknown, there was a very familiar start and performance from The Scouts. Noah Jervis kicking off the scoring with a try under 90 seconds. This has happened more than once!

For 65 minutes the home side took apart the visitors in a one sided game and some great triues were scored. The try by Sonny Rodella to add the extra man on his opposite wing was a particular highlight
The frustration of the loss showed with Stows discipline eventually getting the better of them, and earning them 2 yellow cards and a red card just in to the final quarter.

With 10 minutes to go and the job more than done, Scouts hit the snooze button and let Stow waltz in four tries. Considering the circumstances, you can see how it happened but it took the shine of a really good performance from The Old Scouts.

With a few senior players rested, it was great to see James Barratt, Yaris Clifford-Pyne and Martel Wolfenden all making positive contributions to the games.
