Dom - Head Coach
I’m Dom, I’m the head coach of this season’s amazing U7s at Northampton Old Scouts. I have a son in the team, and I enjoy every Sunday morning sharing my love of rugby with the next generation of rugby stars.
I played rugby for club, school, county and at university, and after years of being coached by volunteers, I want to give back by coaching my son’s age group.
I coach through bringing my passion and energy for the sport and translating it into fun and enjoyment. Sometimes I think I enjoy it even more than they do!
I've never played rugby, so why am I coaching? A few reasons.
I'm done standing on the touchline. I've supported my dad, brother, husband and son at clubs all over the country, and I love it, but now I want to be involved.
Rugby was never made accessible to me growing up, and I'm gutted, because I know I'd have loved it. I want to show that girls and women belong on the pitch - playing, coaching, or however they choose to contribute.
Sport has shaped my life since I was little. Hockey was my first love - school, university, clubs around the country - plus county netball, tennis, badminton, and a good game of cricket in the park. Everything I know about discipline, self-awareness, and teamwork came through sport, and I want to pass that on.
But most importantly? Fun and friends. Sport has given me some of my closest friendships, and I can't wait to help build our U7s family and have a good laugh along the way.
Hi I'm Jason I will be an assistant coach next season. After years of running my own business, I've learned that success comes from trust, hard work, and backing your team. Those are the same qualities I want to bring to the U7s at Northampton Old Scouts.
I'm here to coach because I love rugby's core values: teamwork, respect, and enjoyment. At this age it's all about building confidence, having fun, and helping the kids fall in love with the game.
From managing staff through busy and quiet seasons to securing contracts that keep us growing, I bring leadership, patience, and strong communication. My focus is on creating a positive environment where every player feels valued, learns new skills, and supports their teammates on and off the pitch.
I'm Tom, assistant coach for U7s.
I played rugby from age 5 until I was 20, and then after a 10 year break I took the dive and started playing again, discovering that the front row is definitely the best place on the field.
My son is in the U7s and I have watched him go from Rugby tots, Little Saints and then to Old Scouts.
Rugby was such an important part of my childhood and I think it's incredibly beneficial to young people. Teaching them the value of teamwork and determination. Starting young is the best way in and a solid coaching team can make all the difference. I look forward to another year, it is an absolute pleasure to watch the kids continue to grow and develop, even if I do struggle to remember everyone's names at times….!
Hi, I'm Charlee, and I'll be continuing in my role as Parent Rep for U7.
I wear a few different hats at the club: I chair the Mini & Junior Committee, captain the women's team, I'm mum to three Scouts players, and my husband plays for the 1XV – so we're very much a Scouts family!
Having already had a child go all the way through the age groups, I'm hoping to bring some experience of what our little ones have ahead of them: matches, tournaments, tours (next year!), and everything in between.
I'm also keen to make sure parents' voices are fed into our ever-growing and evolving club through the Mini & Junior Committee.
Please always feel free to message me if you have questions about Pitchero, GMS, fees, or anything else – I'll do my best to help.
I’m Emma, my husband is Head Coach of under 10s and I have 2 boys, one in U10s and one in U7s.
I have never played rugby however I have been an avid supporter of Northampton Saints for 26 years and love watching rugby.
I have been parent rep with the now U10s since they moved up from U6s. I help both teams in the background, provide first aid cover at both training and matches, and look to support both ages for the coming seasons.
For my job I have always worked with children and have a passion for helping to support and guide them to strive for their best, learning through a variety of ways supporting their individual needs.
I look forward to bringing some of this to our team and I am happy to support children, parents and carers and the coaches and look forward to many seasons of seeing the children having lots of fun, learning valuable skills as they go.
We'd love to welcome your child to the Northampton Old Scouts U7s family! Whether your child is new to rugby or has some experience, our team is here to support them every step of the way.
