The Old Scouts were the pride of Northampton on Sunday as they hosted thousands of visitors for the annual Don White Mini & Junior Festival.
The club estimates over 1300 players were involved, coming from 12 clubs including 3 touring sides and the feedback from those clubs has been really positive.
Good weather helps, but the huge effort of our tireless volunteers and club team was the difference.
Amongst the rugby, its the other items such as food, drink, parking, facilities etc that need to work to make it a good festival. We feel that some big steps were made in those areas this year and the Mini & Junior Committee should be proud of their efforts.
The biggest 'risk' was spreading the rugby over the day, rather than just the morning, and the one consistent bit of positive feedback was how this was effective and made the day easier for everyone.
Some photos will be coming out soon!
Finally, whilst the M & J committee get the deserved praise, a special mention goes out to Charlee Dolman for leading the group on this new look festival.
If you feel like you can make a difference for next year or anything else at the club, speak to your coach/player rep.
