Your wonderful club will be celebrating its 100 years birthday in the season of 2026/27 and whilst it may seem to be a long way away, there is no hiding from the fact it will soon come round.

Over the coming months our we would like to establish a Centenary committee who will, which we hope will be made up of persons from all corners of the club, maybe incorporating past players and VP’s also to get the ball rolling on planning.

It will not be a prestigious select few, it will be a committee that will have the drive and desire to ensure that as we enter the Centenary year, we make the most out of this milestone for one of the most celebrated clubs in the East Midlands, if not Midlands.

We only get one shot at this, so lets make it a bullseye hit, lets lift the roof of Rushmere Rd and give the club the perfect birthday it deserves.

The whole year can be made up of events, which could lead to a crescendo of a massive ball / dinner dance, whether it be on site in a huge marquee, or at a hotel in town.
We could have a club tour to foreign soil?
We can have guest speakers, famous TV personalities.
We could have ties, bow ties, jackets, blazer badges – we can have anything if we wish – but it will need some organising and of course funding.

As a recipient, I am not asking that you jump in feet first, I am simply at this stage wanting to share this detail with you and hope that as we move forwards you can lend a hand, bring an idea to the table, or even spread the word to your colleagues , because as we know, many hands make light work.

The idea is that the committee would be temporary with the sole purpose of planning and delivering our centenary activities. If anyone would like to get involved then the inaugural meeting of like minded individuals is planned for Wednesday 6th August at 7.30pm in the club house.
