Cricket at The Old Scouts

A message from James Hurrell, BDCC Youth Section Chair:

By way of introduction, I lead the youth section at Bold Dragoon Cricket Club, where we have hosted children from the Scouts over the past 4 years.

We thought you might appreciate an early heads up on our plans for our very popular All Stars (for ages 5-8) and Dynamos (for ages 8-11) programmes which will take place again this summer. The programmes are very accessible from a cost perspective (£50 for 8 weeks, with all recipients receiving personalised kit) and all playing equipment is provided.

We have plans for an exciting programme of cricket planned for 2026 including:

All Stars - for ages 5-8, Fridays 8th May - 26th June, 1730-1815 (register at allstarscricket.co.uk)
Dynamos - for ages 8-11, Fridays 8th May - 26th June, 1815-1915 (register at dynamoscricket.co.uk)
U11s hardball - for school years 5 and 6, training Fridays from 1800 (after Easter), matches on Sunday mornings
U12s hardball - for school years 6 and 7, training Fridays from 1800 (after Easter), matches on Thursday evenings
Girls U11 softball league - training on Fridays (initially with Dynamos), matches on Sunday afternoons.

As ever, every Friday evening our barbecue will be lit and refreshments will be on sale, making a lovely end to the week for parents and children alike.

You can register interest for All Stars and Dynamos on the websites above, with the courses formally released at some point in March.

For hardball U11, U12 and Girls U11 softball league, it would be great to capture interest and answer any questions parents/carers may have ahead of the season - you can reach me at jameshurrell13@gmail.com. Importantly, all kit will be provided for those trying hardball cricket, so there is no need for big expense!

Hope you welcome the early heads up and we are looking forward to welcoming your children back to BDCC in 2026!

Thanks,

James Hurrell, BDCC Youth Section Chair
