Comfortable In The End

Won 22-10 (Tries: Kieran, Ollie Dryden, Ollie Skipper, George; Con: Caleb)

This was a well contested league encounter with local rivals Casuals, however Scouts always seemed to have the upper hand and so it proved with Scouts eventually running out comfortable winners.

After a quiet start with both sides testing each other out, Scouts got the first score on the board when from a quickly taken penalty, Kieran caught the Casual’s defence napping to touch down. They doubled the lead, scoring from an excellently worked line out move (no more details here as you never know who may be reading this and we might want to use it again!!!) resulting in Ollie Dryden crashing over. Casuals scored following a catch and drive from a line-out of their own to make the score 10-5 at half-time.

Casuals started the brighter of the two teams in the second half and levelled the score early on. They weren’t level for long, however when Ollie Skipper gratefully seized on a Casuals error to score. Caleb converted from near the touch line to regain the lead for Scouts. A forward drive resulted in Scouts crossing the try line, but were unable to ground the ball. Casuals respite though was short lived when George scored in the corner to give Scouts some breathing space and see out the match and their second league win of the season.

A really entertaining match played in the right spirit.
