Sometimes you have to put your hand up and admit that you were beaten by the better team. This was the case for the Colts in their defeat in the Referee Cup by Ampthill. The boys though never gave up and never let their heads drop.

Scouts started well and momentarily stunned the visitors by taking an early lead when Rees scored following a break by Ollie S. Caleb judged the strong wind well and kicked the conversion to give Scouts an early 7-0 advantage.

However, this the highlight of the match as far as Scouts were concerned as the much bigger opposing pack and the wind in the second half finally took their toll. However, they ensured that Ampthill knew they were in a match all the way through and can take comfort in the knowledge that this is probably the best side they will play against all season.
