Scouts down to bare 15 but do enough to win

Scouts would like to thank Daventry for their visit to Rushmere Road. Daventry are in transition at the moment but showed throughout great spirit, tackling and intent, especially in the second half where they outscored the scouts 8 to 5.
Scouts with just 15 fit and available to choose from came out of the blocks in the first half defending and tackling well and looking dangerous with ball in hand (especially when they moved play swiftly and with accuracy).Great support play and movement of the ball from the breakdown and through hands saw Scouts score 5 tries and finish the first half 27 - 0.
Scouts shuffled positions at half time to trying players in new and different positions and permutations The changes however seem to make the scouts slow to get started allowing Daventry some sustained pressure.especially through their forwards culminating in a try and shortly after a drop goal. Stung by conceding Scouts started to get back into the game and with better decision making and more discipline ( too many penalties conceded again) they would have scored more than the one try they managed in the second half. Again a good gritty performance from the lads but again some areas of play needing improvement.
