Having only ever played Bugbrooke in tournament games, and always resulting in one score short of the victory, Scouts U10s were looking forward to their first friendly fixture against a very talented and strong Bugbrooke squad.
The teams for both sides for the first two games were a mixture of squad players, with the Scouts newer players showing just how far they have come despite the long Christmas and weather break. The last game, each team fielded their strongest eight. though that said Scouts made plenty of changes to ensure all were involved. This game would be a good test for the Scouts to see how they fared against the physical Bugbrooke side.
Not only did the Scouts claim the victory in all three games, the team proved to themselves that when they play well, make their tackles and move the ball into space, not only can they beat one of the best teams in the East Midlands, but they can do so without conceding a try as they did in the final game.
A fantastic morning's rugby from the entire squad and encouraging signs for the forthcoming tournaments to close up the season.
