Fun and games to finish of the year!!!

This week was all about having fun and winding down for Christmas. The squad have worked hard so far this season so time to mess about!

It started with a handling game with Kelvins oversized ball! Then came rugby rounders, lots of fun for the boys....and criticism of the ref (making the rules up as we go!!). Rugby netball followed and to end the session, Contact Bulldog with snake hips Berry Jnr slipping and sliding his way through!

Player of the week went to a young man who turns out every week, first on the pitch, all over it in fact, often before even the coaches turn up. He takes all of his sporting endeavours seriously, even prays to the great ice god during skating practice! Without him there would be no games, take a bow, our very own U9s groundsman, Dodge Edwards.

Player of the Month went to a well deserved Heath McGregor. Heath has improved every session over the last few weeks, closely watched by Head Coach James. He has put a lot of effort into his tackling which is now relentless and runs with his head up, looking for space which is excellent to see. It is a sign of the work put in by the squad as these awards get harder and harder to pick, but Heath fully deserved the much coveted Saints ball, well done.

Finally the session ended and it was over to the club house to see Father Christmas. The boys had a great time giving and receiving gifts and thankfully James made sure Santa was made to feel welcome, he'll definitely be on the good list!

It was also a chance to say a few big thank yous. Firstly to our Team admin Andrea Hefford who keeps us all up to date and the facebook notifications buzzing. Also to Cath Bates and co for organising our Santa visit, to our fantastic photographer Clare Heath. The photos Clare takes are excellent, a chance to look back on the day, or keep family and friends in touch with what the boys are up to on a Sunday. Finally to the parents who give up their Sunday mornings to stand in the elements to give the boys the chance to play the great game.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Under9s Coaching Team..
