Long Buckby Festival

As we head towards the end of the season, Long Buckby Festival is always a good day!

This week the boys took part in the Long Buckby Festival. The sun was shining and the cakes were baked, all we needed for the ideal Sunday morning of Rugby was boys ready to play! With two teams entered, we had just that. As per the seasons plan we took two festival sides to take on a number of teams from across the county, most of which brought the majority of their most experienced players. All the more for our boys to smash!

It was hard work for the boys and although they may have not got to the final, the best part was they didn't give up. We are always balancing the team selections on knowing the boys want to win with the coaches wanting to develop ALL the players. Some of the best learning comes from actual game time against unfamiliar teams. There is only so much benefits of playing against your own mates.

This weeks player of the week showed just that. New to the game, Aiden Duffy, is still getting comfortable on the pitch, dealing with tackles, ball skills etc. However in one morning he improved greatly, learning to guard the ball in contact, knowing he would get support from his team. Well done Aiden, keep working on it.
