Alliance festival at BBOB’s Sunday 3rd March 2013

We entered two teams in the festival the Cheetah’s and Rhino’s.

The Cheetah’s were: Frankie, George, Jack B, William, Josh, Jack Mc, James McGrath and Marcus

The Rhino’s were: Alex, James K, Ollie, Sonny, Tait, Hayden, Lewis, Zach and James W

Both teams had 5 pool games and then a playoff match.

First up for the Rhinos was BBOB’s, they won the match 4-1 with all 4 tries coming from Ollie, the whole team showed excellent passing in particular Lewis, Tait and James K, with Sonny adding some additional impact with his tackling.

The Rhino’s Second match was against the Casuals, a feisty affair ending in a 2-1 victory again both tries from Ollie, in this match there was some strong runs by Hayden and Zach, and some excellent tackles by Alex.

The Rhino’s Third match was against Brackley, this saw the boys loose 4- 2 mainly down to having to play back to back with limited subs. Still a tight game with tries from Sonny and Zach, and some great passes by James W.

The Fourth Rhino match was against Bletchley, due to a technical error by the Junior Reporter Dave, we are unable to confirm this result and try scorers apologise from the media department on this!

The Fifth Rhino match was against local rivals the ON’s, ending in a 5-1 defeat the score line not reflecting the match, which was tighter than the result suggest, Ollie was the try scorer bring his total to 6 in the group stages.

The Cheetah’s first match was against Towcester, seeing them win 2-0, with one try for Frankie and one try for George, and some excellent runs from Marcus and William.

The Cheetah’s second match was against Bugbrooke, ending in a 2-2 draw with Bugbrooke scoring late and scouts not using advantage when in the final third the boys really should have won the match. The two tries coming from George, with excellent defence from Josh and Jack B.

The Cheetah’s third game was against Olney, back to back match with no subs meant the boys suffered a 5-0 loss, they were in the game early on, but tiredness affected late on.

The Cheetah’s fourth game was against Long Buckby refreshed by cakes and sweets they came back to life with a 7-1 victory, 2 tries from Frankie and George and individual tries from Jack B, Josh and Jack Mc.

The fifth pool game ended in a tight 4-3 victory against Buckingham, scores from George and Frankie 3, meaning they each finished the pool matches with 6 tries each. This match saw some excellent last ditch tackles from Jack B and Josh.

Results all in the Rhinos finished 3 in there group as did the Cheetah’s, meaning a playoff match between the two Old Scout teams, to finish off the day! The result a 2-2 draw, and honours shared.
A really good display by the boys, a few less back to back games and more subs and we could have been playing in the final not the 3rd place play off!
