Scouts travelled to local rivals BBOB, knowing that they would be in for a tough afternoon and this is exactly what they found, fortunately coming away victors, by 20 points to 15.

From the start, Scouts were trying hard to get control of the ball, with the hosts, enjoying more of the possession, and after just 5 minutes, their centre ran through following a well worked midfield move, under the posts giving them an early 7 points to nil lead.

With the next 20 minutes or so being reasonably even, both sides were attacking well, however handling errors, seemed to be the common factor for both sides. An Adam Frost penalty on 25 minutes, got Scouts onto the score sheet, and then as the half came to a close, BB were reduced to 14 men, for persistent infringement on the floor, however Scouts were unable to capitalise on the player shortage and the half finished 7 points to 3.

The second period saw Scouts take more shape it their performance, with phases becoming more stable and good hands allowing them to take control of the game.

After 10 minutes into the half and following many forward drives down the left hand side, Emilio Giron-Walsh crashed over from just 5 yards out and with Adam Frost adding the extras, Scouts moved into the lead for the first time in the match.

With confidence appearing to show from the Scouts back, 10 minutes later Arran Ashmore hit a great line off his left wing, following good work in midfield by Tom Powell and again Adam Frost added the extras.

BB immediately attacked from the re-start and were awarded a penalty allowing them to reduce the gap with a further 3 points. However, Scouts answered back straight away with an Adam Frost penalty after the hosts held onto the ball on the floor from the kick off and with this stretched their lead to 20 points to 10.

As the game entered into the final 10 minutes, BB took advantage of a kick and chase and scored out wide, and with the unsuccessful kick took the game into a tense finish, with Scouts holding on, to a well fought and deserved win.

Openside Liam Markey put in a superb and well deserved Man of the Match performance, appearing and being influential at every breakdown.
