First League win at Melton Mowbray!

Scouts returned with their first ever league win at Melton Mowbray with a scoreline that flattered the hosts.
Playing up the slope Scouts were asking all the questions but were hit on the break. Melton fed their quick left winger who made plenty of ground to eventually feed inside to his support for a try under the sticks. This was totally against the run of play and Scouts hit back soon after when skipper Jordan Dolman squeezed in the corner after good driving play created the opportunity. Will Brennan could not convert from the touchline but made amends with a penalty to put Scouts in front. Melton retook the lead before the break with a penalty.
The second half was totally dominated by Scouts who repelled any attempts thrown at them with some ferocious tackling. Their own efforts were halted by some strange decisions that were not helping the flow of the game but after being denied a clear cut penalty try they caught Melton napping when Emilio Giron-Walsh nipped round the front of a lineout to dot down. Brennan added the extras and added a further penalty to seal the game.
This Friday Scouts are at home to Casuals with a 7:30ko.

It was a good weekend all round as Scouts 2nds beat BBOB 39-5. The Academy beat Mens Own 19-7 to reach the semi-final of the Oceanic Trophy while the U16s beat Kettering 10-5 away to reach the Final of the East Midlands Cup.
