Hard work only produces a losing bonus point!

The first quarter was extremely hectic with Scouts spending most of it in their own 22 denying Belgrave a score. During the tense skirmishes both sides received a yellow card and with both off the park Scouts fell foul of the referee and received another.
A rare break out of defence led by Scouts winger Matthew Cockman put the visitors on the back foot and after the ball had been swiftly transferred from left to right and then back again Cockman was on hand to touch down. Dean Lake successfully notched the conversion.
A Belgrave penalty reduced the arrears and they eventually took the lead with a converted try for a half time lead.
The second half was rumbling on with a score from either side looking unlikely but it eventually came from a crash ball on a rare Belgrave breakout for a try in the corner which went unconverted. This had followed a third yellow of the day for the home side leaving them one short in defence.
Scouts decided to throw everything at their visitors and were rewarded soon after when Emilio Giron-Walsh was driven over the line. The conversion was missed but with ten minutes remaining there was still an opportunity to gain a win. During constant attacks by Scouts Belgrave gave away numerous penalties and were awarded two yellow cards and were lucky that the referee was unsighted when Scouts claimed a touchdown.
Scouts had spurned the chance of a couple of penalty kicks to draw the game in an effort to win but only had a losing bonus point to show for their efforts.
