No second half points again!!

Scouts eventually came away with four points after an intense second half battle.
The home side went on the attack straight from the kick off and kept the ball in Meltons 22 until a swift ball was sent through to Josh OBrien who stretched out for the line. Dean Lake converted.
Melton drew level soon after when a mix up in midfield resulted in a hack through behind Scouts defence for a seven pointer. Scouts continued to take advantage of the wind with some neat kicks to gain advantage and from a scrum they passed out wide left for Will Brennan to touchdown in the corner, Lake converted from the touchline.
The lead was then increased when Jack Green slotted a snap drop goal and before the break another handling movement resulted in replacement right winger Christian Barry popping up on the left to score. With Lake adding the extras Scouts looked to be in a comfortable position going into halftime leading 24 – 7.
The second half was a different game all together as Scouts ill-discipline led to two yellow cards during the forty minutes plus injuries were disrupting the flow of the game.
A determined Melton outfit kept the pressure on Scouts and were rewarded with a try on the hour. The visitors then proceeded to continually batter the Scouts line and in time added on for the numerous injuries scored a converted try to gain a deserved losing bonus point.
This was the second week running that Scouts had failed to score in the second half and it was only a resolute defence that resulted in the win.
