Scouts hosted local rivals Long Buckby under lights at Rushmere Road and ran out easy winners.
The home side attacked from the first whistle but Buckby defence held out until eventually they conceded a penalty which was converted by full back Dean Lake.
Long Buckby had a chance to equalise but the kick sailed wide and as Scouts went on the attack a visitors scrum was shoved backwards at a rate of knots with Ali Morin touching down for Lake to convert.
A storming run by prop Tom Major resulted in a Scouts scrum. Winger Liam Hancock raced across the cover defence to switch with Lake who touched down and added the extras. Minutes later opposite winger Josh OBrien latched on to the end of a slick passing movement to set up Morin for his second. Lake again converting.
Long Buckby eventually got on the score sheet courtesy of an interception gifted to them when Scouts were attempting to pass their way out of their own 22.
On the half hour OBrien added his name to the try list and secured the try bonus point and with Lake adding the two points to this and a try just before half time from Jack Green, after a barging run from Jordan Dolman, Scouts went into the break 38-7 up.
The first twenty minutes of the second half went without a score but Scouts added three tries in the fourth quarter. George Barrett strode through a hapless defence, replacement Christian Barry raced over in the corner and Liam Hancock danced his way through. Lake converted two to accrue a personal tally of 22 points.
