Bonus point away at Buzzard

With both sides having been relegated last season a hard match was expected as there had been a few additions to both squads during the summer.
Scouts started facing up the slope and the teams were equally matched. Buzzard had most of the ball and attacked relentlessly with Scouts defence holding firm.
The hosts eventually got the scoreboard ticking over with a penalty after 25 minutes and Scouts disrupted further attacks until right on the stroke of half time when an overlap saw Buzzard cross for a unconverted try.
The second half saw the score reduced when following three attempts by Scouts forwards to drive over the line Luke Reeves was the eventual scorer.
Scouts continued to put Buzzard on the back foot but could not gain a score and two breakaways by Buzzard resulted in two tries and the lead had increased to 22-5.
The last ten minutes was all Scouts with Calum Inwood dotting down after a neat pass from Alex Finnie and Will Brenan adding the extras. Scouts did spurn an opportunity to secure a losing bonus point when they had a penalty awarded but they eventually created space for winger George Barrett to score out wide with the last move of the game.
