Frost melts Earlsdon

It was end to end in the first few minutes until Scouts opened the scoring when centre Liam Hancock finished a handling display that had involved all players throwing the ball about like it was the Harlem Globetrotters. Adam Frost added the extras.
Within two minutes of the restart Hancock’s centre partner George Barrett latched on to a pass 60 metres out and raced through a haphazard defence to dot down under the sticks to give Frost a simple conversion.
The remainder of the half was scoreless as Scouts defence held out all attacking moves by the hosts whilst creating several unsuccessful scoring opportunities of their own.
Fitness was the key in the second half as the sun beat down and Scouts ran in five tries at a canter. Bobby Bland was first to go over after a lineout steal had seen skipper Jordan Dolman make good ground and then winger Josh OBrien scythed through to score his debut try for the club. Frost converted both prior to adding the two points to his own try a few minutes later.
Both sides were tiring in the heat and a home player was yellow carded for a dangerous tackle and as tempers flared the referee was quick to deal with it.
Winger OBrien added his second with a pacey run and Dean Lake was last over the line for the visitors. Frost converted the second to complete a personal haul of 17 points.
To their credit Earlsdon kept going until the end scoring a consolation try with the last move of the game.
